Think of weights as performance ratings that validators give to miners . These scores show how miners perform in their specific subnet . Validators update these weights periodically on the blockchain. This creates a system that tracks miner performance.

Each validator creates a unique weight matrix for miners in their subnet. This matrix shows the validator's assessment of each miner. Miners with better output quality receive higher weights. These weights help determine how rewards get distributed within the subnet.

Not all weights have the same impact. A validator's stake determines how much their weights matter in the network. Validators who invest more TAO tokens can influence consensus more. Their stake decides how much weight their ratings carry when determining miner rewards.

The network uses weights to distribute TAO tokens fairly. Miners' rewards connect directly to their weight scores. Higher weights mean larger TAO allocations. This system motivates miners to improve constantly.
